The First Aid Trainer course is a comprehensive 3-day programme running from 9am to 5pm each day. This includes theory, practical demonstrations, teaching practice, and assessment.
Your First Aid Trainer certificate is typically valid for 3 years. However, it's recommended to complete refresher training every 2-3 years and maintain annual CPD (Continuing Professional Development) to stay current with regulations and best practices. Abertay provides ongoing support and refresher options for qualified trainers.
No prior qualifications are required to attend the First Aid Trainer course. It is recommended you hold a current FAW or EFAW certificate. You should have a good understanding of workplace health and safety. The course includes a complimentary PDLSG teaching award.
